Job Description

The Rundle Bar Ambassador is the first and last point of connection for every guest visiting Rundle Bar. More than a host, this role is responsible for shaping the energy of the room, curating exceptional arrivals, and creating genuine connections that define the guest experience. Through warm, intuitive hospitality and a deep understanding of the Rundle Bar brand, the Ambassador ensures every guest feels welcomed, recognized and excited to be part of one of Canada's most celebrated cocktail destinations.

Starting Rate: $22.22 per hour

We recognize tenure through our compensation. Hourly rates increase yearly, up to three years.

Job Duties Include:

Reporting to the Restaurant Leadership Team, responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

Deliver exceptional first impressions by warmly welcoming guests, managing arrivals with confidence and professionalism, recognizing returning guests and special occasions, and creating personalized experiences that reflect Rundle Bar's luxury hospitality standards.
Create memorable guest experiences by anticipating guest needs, building genuine connections, resolving concerns with empathy, celebrating special moments, and consistently seeking opportunities to surprise and delight through Fairmont's "Make Special Happen" philosophy.
Manage the flow of the dining room by maintaining a visible presence, coordinating seating and table pacing, communicating effectively with leadership and service teams, and ensuring a seamless, enjoyable guest journey, even during peak periods.
Serve as a knowledgeable brand ambassador by confidently sharing the story of Rundle Bar, providing recommendations on menus, cocktails, hotel dining experiences and local attractions, while delivering polished, engaging and authentic service.
Maintain the highest presentation and service standards by ensuring the host stand and entrance are immaculate, supporting team operations wherever needed, and contributing to a collaborative environment that consistently exceeds guest expectations.

Qualifications
Must have Pro-Serve Certification
Previous luxury restaurant, fine dining or hospitality experience preferred.
Previous experience as a host, maître d', guest services agent or guest relations professional is considered an asset.
Previous experience with OpenTable reservations platform.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Naturally warm, engaging and confident in conversation.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to remain composed and solution-oriented during busy service periods.
Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail.
Passion for food, wine, cocktails and luxury hospitality.
Proficient in English, both written and spoken. Additional languages are considered an asset.
Flexible availability including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Highly responsible, professional and reliable.
Thrives as part of a collaborative team while maintaining ownership of the guest experience.
