Journeyman Electrician - Fire & Life Safety

Build Your Electrical Career in Fire & Life Safety
REAL-R is looking for a Journeyman Electrician to join an established fire and life safety company serving the Banff-Canmore corridor and surrounding Bow Valley communities.

This is an excellent opportunity for an electrician who has some exposure to fire alarm or life safety systems and wants to build deeper expertise in a specialized, in-demand area of the electrical trade.

You don't need to know everything about fire alarm systems on day one. We're looking for someone with solid electrical experience, good troubleshooting skills, a willingness to learn, and an interest in developing a long-term career in fire and life safety.

What You'll Be Doing
You'll work on a variety of commercial fire alarm and life safety projects throughout the Bow Valley, including installation, service, maintenance and troubleshooting.

Your responsibilities will include:

Installing, maintaining and servicing fire alarm and related life safety systems
Troubleshooting electrical and system issues
Reading electrical drawings, schematics and specifications
Assisting with fire alarm inspections, testing and system verification
Performing upgrades and modifications to existing systems
Working alongside experienced fire and life safety technicians
Completing required service and project documentation
Communicating professionally with customers, contractors and other trades
Following electrical codes, safety standards and company procedures
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is a certified Journeyman Electrician who enjoys troubleshooting, takes pride in doing quality work and wants to develop specialized skills.

We'd like to hear from you if you have:

Alberta Journeyman Electrician certification
Previous electrical service or commercial experience
Some experience or exposure to fire alarm, fire protection or life safety systems
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics
A valid driver's licence and clean driving record
A professional, dependable approach to customers and coworkers
A willingness to learn and continue developing your technical skills
Fire alarm experience is an asset, but extensive experience is not required. Training and mentorship can be provided to the right electrician who wants to grow in this field.

Location Matters
This position primarily services Banff, Canmore and the surrounding Bow Valley area.

We're specifically looking for someone who is committed to living and working in the Bow Valley.
