What We’re Looking For

Roam is seeking a hands-on, experienced, and people-focused Human Resources Manager. In this role, you’ll actively deliver day-to-day HR programs while also providing leadership and guidance to our HR Generalist. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Administration, you’ll be directly involved in the work and will play a key part in fostering a positive, engaged, and high-performing workplace culture that reflects Roam’s values: Passion, Resourcefulness, Kindness, and Inclusivity.

This is a full-time, in office, position which will require the successful candidate to either live in the Bow Valley region or be able to reliably commute to Banff, AB daily.

As Roam’s Human Resources Manager, you will:

Lead With Impact

Lead HR programs across recruitment, performance, engagement, and employee relations.
Partner with managers as a trusted advisor, providing coaching and guidance.
Ensure policies, practices, and programs align with applicable legislation and Roam’s strategic goals.
Collaborate with the Director or Finance and Administration in preparing the annual HR budget.
Shape Our Growing Team

Manage and participate in full-cycle recruitment, from posting and interviewing to reference check and offer letters, utilizing inclusive and strategic hiring practices.
Guide and contribute to workforce and succession planning to support long-term growth.
Deliver engaging onboarding, orientation, and offboarding experiences.
Build a Workplace People Love

Champion engagement, recognition, and wellness programs that help build a positive workplace.
Directly support managers with the tools and resources necessary to conduct meaningful performance reviews.
Directly handle employee relations matters, and work alongside managers to ensure fairness, compliance, and empathy.
Champion Fairness & Safety

Ensure compliance with employment standards, human rights, privacy, and health and safety legislation.
Promote health and safety as a committee member and HR Partner.
Safeguard employee data and uphold privacy standards.
Reward & Support Our Team

Support and enforce equitable compensation and rewards practices.
Work closely with the HR Generalist, actively administering benefits and day-to-day HR systems as needed.
Oversee staff housing programs, ensuring the HR Generalist is supported with the day-to-day management as well as compliance with housing policies.
Use Insights to Drive Change

Manage and optimize internal HRIS systems for efficiencies and accurate reporting.
Analyze HR data to provide insights and guide decision-making.
This is a hands-on HR Manager role. You’ll role up your sleeves and actively contribute to the daily delivery of HR services, while also shaping strategy and guiding a small team as Roam continues to grow.

What You’ll Bring

Experience

5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience with exposure to all major functional areas of HR.
3+ years of leadership experience, overseeing a small team.
Education

Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is required.
CPHR Designation or Candidacy is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Comprehensive knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply all aspects of Alberta Employment Standards, Human Rights legislation, FOIP/Privacy requirements, and other employment-related legislation and best-practices.
Experienced in employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes.
Experienced in developing HR policies and programs.
Capable of utilizing HRIS systems (familiarity with BambooHR is a plus!)
Ability to lead or support workforce planning, job evaluations, and succession planning initiatives.
Experienced with recruitment, interviewing, and candidate assessment.
Strong leadership skills including coaching, mentoring, ability to delegate, and achieve results through teamwork.
Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
Critical thinking skills with the ability to use data to support decision-making.
Proven experience in relationship management.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with senior leadership and external consultants on HR strategies.
Self-motivated and independent with the ability to take initiative.
Experience with WCB claims management advantageous.
Experience with employee housing/accommodations administration is considered an asset.
What We Offer

A competitive annual salary between $90,000 - $95,000.
Paid vacation, starting at 3 weeks per year.
