As a Parks Services Labourer you “Take Care of Banff” by leveraging your acquired skills and experience to keep the Town’s green spaces as beautiful as its natural surroundings.

You enjoy the variety of year-round and seasonal duties and work locations, including: municipal parks and parkettes, cemeteries, playgrounds, and our Recreation Grounds amenities (EG: multisport field, ball diamonds, skatepark, dog park, track, playground, tennis/basketball courts). With an eye for detail, you focus on keeping areas clean and safe for the use and enjoyment of the public. As an experienced labourer, your coworkers look to your experience in providing direction and guidance when performing work duties.

You will be able to demonstrate your competence in the following key accountabilities:

Demonstrated work experience in a labourer role, preferably in grounds, golf course or landscaping.
Experience in operation and basic mechanical maintenance of a range of vehicles, equipment and tools from trucks to tool-cats, ride-on mowers and seasonal gas, electric or battery powered brooms, trimmers, etc.
Experience with workplace health and safety programs and policies and ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including physical stamina and working outdoors in extreme weather.
Thrives on working independently and collaboratively with colleagues dedicated to public use and safety.
A great attitude, willingness to help others and foster positive change.
A valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license and a clear Driver’s Abstract.
Experience with irrigation system maintenance would be an asset
Duties are based on 40 hours/week and shifts will be scheduled to cover a 7-day/week operation. We offer an Hours of Work Averaging Agreement of 4 x 10-hour shifts/week providing you with 3 days off to enjoy all that Banff has to offer. The wage will be between $23.00 and $29.00 per hour depending on your experience.

Employment will commence in October 2024 and the position is eligible for group health, dental and retirement benefits following the appropriate waiting periods.
