Full job description
THIS ISN'T JUST A WAREHOUSE - THIS IS WHERE THE EVENT MAGIC BEGINS.

Sure, it sounds kinda cheesy. But it's also kinda true. This isn't a standard dingy storage tank for spare parts. I mean, we do store a lot of items. But these are particular event-related items; candelabras, chandeliers, charger plates, chairs, tables, tents of all kinds, more chairs, specialty table linens, plateware/glassware, chairs again, decor, antiques and art pieces, a/v equipment... the list goes on. (did I say chairs?)

Our event warehouse is also a prop fabrication shop, creative hub, floral shop, laundry, bank vault, and problem-solving centre. The Warehouse Supervisor oversees day-to-day warehouse operations, keeping things on track so the rest of our team can meet deadlines and impress our clients with amazing product quality.

We are hiring a Warehouse Supervisor; a full-time, permanent role, located in Banff Alberta. This role generally works 8:30am-5pm Monday to Friday, with some after-hours or weekend work required from time to time.

WHO WE ARE:
From full-service event planning & design, unique custom weddings and quality event rentals, Mountainscape Events, Mountain Event Rentals & Mountainscape Weddings are related brands specializing in premium special event services based in Banff, Alberta. We pride ourselves in a positive, fun, inclusive work environment, valuing flawless event results while achieving work-life balance.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
The Warehouse Supervisor is a hands-on position, leading and influencing the operations team members to provide top-notch product quality and customer service.

This includes team building, employee training and development, inventory control and care, efficient operations, product tracking, as well as a healthy dose of problem-solving. Overseeing and being involved with pre-event operations - accurate order prepping, packing and shipping; then post-event receiving, cleaning, counting repackaging and storing items. The warehouse supervisor assists the Operations Manager and the Management team to ensure a balance between financial profit, successful client experiences, successful team experiences, and a healthy corporate culture.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Schedule daily delegation of workload to the team
Supervise duties and activities of the operations team and observe day-to-day operations and special projects
Assist operations team with various problems throughout the day
Assist sales team with customer concerns by investigating and solving challenges
Assist with scheduling team members and maintaining labour budgets
Maintain strict inventory control and quality control of all products
Ensure that lift machines are maintained and are in safe condition for operation
Supervise the cleaning, handling, repair and refinishing inventory items
Meet with members of the management team to discuss policies and challenges and successes, make recommendations and find solutions
Communicate potential product issues and safety concerns
Act in other event-related capacities, filling in for other positions when necessary either in our warehouse or onsite
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to lift and carry warehouse inventory (40+ lbs / 20+ kg)
Ability to stand/walk/climb, use ladders and confidently work at height or other work platforms
Ability to operate vehicles, including cars, trucks and ideally a small forklift
Ability to load and unload inventory in and out of vehicles
Keen visual skills to discern shapes and colours of inventory items. Able to identify imperfections in product quality (use of glasses/contact lenses is okay)
Manual dexterity (for operating tools, handling fragile objects, etc.)
