Job Description

We are seeking a highly energized, organized and professional candidate to assist in leading our room reservations team at the Castle in the Rockies!

Are you one who is looking to grow your skills in the area of Reservations and Revenue Management, within the hospitality industry, whilst enjoying the breathtaking setting of the Canadian Rockies?

Competitive Salary: $59,000 - $62,000 gross annually, based on previous experience & education

Job Duties Include:

Oversee the daily operations for the largest in-house reservations department within the NCA region (team of up to 19, including four coordinators)
Work closely with Sales, Revenue Management, PR, Marketing and Operations teams to develop and execute new packages, rates and processes.
Foster strong relationships with group organizers, sales managers, conference services managers and tour & wholesale suppliers.
Act as key resource for Reservations and all segments knowledge while overseeing the training of Reservations Agents
Assist with monitoring of all Reservations common inboxes and ensure correspondence of emails within a timely manner
Assist with the balancing of guestroom inventory, using sales reporting to determine inventory concerns, spearheading inventory challenges for at capacity dates and working with partners to find solutions and organize reversals and relocate
Handle guest complaints regarding reservations concerns and follow up on SCORE
Build and maintain rates, packages within Reservations System per specification of Group Contracts
Ensure monthly group contract audits are completed by the designated deadlines
Attend group pre-cons, resume meetings and revmax meetings to present Group data.
Assist with scheduling and payroll for the reservations department
Champion the employee engagement survey (EES) initiatives for the department
Ensure that there is constant communication within the team by conducting monthly department meetings
Contribute to monthly department meetings
Follow and champion any assigned hotel committees
Assist with creating and managing department incentive programs
Create and implement Reservations training guides - update SOP’s, tracking documents and communicate these effectively to the Reservations team
Assist with recruitment for all year-round and seasonal reservations staff
Manage room reservations agents and act as a mentor
Assist the reservations team with all duties during high demand periods
Other duties as assigned - As a leader of the Rooms Division, you may be asked to assist in other operational departments within rooms division as needed

Qualifications

Your Skills & Qualifications:

Previous leadership experience in a hotel environment is an asset
Previous room reservations experience is an asset
High School diploma
18 months+ commitment to role
Working knowledge of Passkey/GroupMax is an asset
Strong working knowledge of Opera Property Manager System (PMS)
Working knowledge of Central Reservations System (CRS) is an asset
Passion for hotel operations with a high level of attention to detail
Strong communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills
Excellent written and verbal skills required
Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Word and Excel
Must display strong analytical, organizational and administrative skills to be able to deal with multiple priorities simultaneously
Professional presentation with ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
