Full job description
Overview:
Mount Norquay is seeking an experience, reliable and safety minded Snow Cat Operator for the upcoming winter season. This is an exciting opportunity to work in the beautiful Canadian Rockies while gaining valuable experience in one of Canada's oldest ski resorts.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate our grooming equipment, reshape, and optimize trails, runs, terrain parks, and access corridors
Perform grooming, snow-farming, snow-pushing, and resurfacing to uphold safety and rideability standards
Conduct pre-shift inspections, daily maintenance, fueling, and basic servicing of grooming equipment
Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and coordinate with the maintenance shop for repairs
Maintain accurate logs and communicate trail / snow conditions to operations staff
Occasionally assist with snowmaking support, trail inspection, event setups, or emergency work
Work flexible hours, including overnight and early mornings, to match grooming schedules
Qualifications:

Proven experience (ideally 1–2+ seasons) operating snow grooming equipment or heavy machinery in winter conditions
Mechanical aptitude and ability to conduct routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs
Strong safety awareness and ability to follow policies, SOPs, and hazard protocols
Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, in cold, variable conditions
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
Ability to lift up to 25 kg / 55 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
Willingness to work flexible, rotating shifts (nights, weekends, holidays), with short notice
