Description:

ATCO Frontec is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Dual Ticket Red Seal Plumber & Oil Burner Mechanic to join our team in Resolute Bay, Nunavut. This role involves maintaining, repairing, and installing plumbing and oil-burning systems in one of the most challenging and rewarding environments in the Arctic. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, adaptable, and experienced in working in remote or extreme climates.

Working on a rotation of 4 weeks on, 4 weeks off, 10-hour shifts per day, with travel paid The wage starts at $55/hour.

Responsibilities:

Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, including potable water, sewage, and heating systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with water lines, drainage systems, and plumbing fixtures.
Ensure compliance with relevant plumbing codes and standards.
Install, service, and repair oil-burning heating systems, including furnaces, boilers, and auxiliary equipment.
Perform inspections, adjustments, and diagnostics to optimize system performance.
Safely handle and dispose of oil and related materials according to environmental and safety guidelines.
Conduct routine inspections of systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and installations.
Adhere to workplace safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
Participate in safety meetings, emergency response drills, and training.
Support the implementation of the organization’s safety management systems.
Work closely with other trades, including electricians, HVAC technicians, and construction staff.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and clients to complete projects on schedule.
Qualifications:

Must have Red Seal Journeyperson Certification in Plumbing and Certification in Oil Burner Mechanic (OBM) (Dual Ticket).
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a similar role.
Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driver's record/abstract.
Must be able to pass a Drug & Alcohol test, Fit to Work test, and extensive background check.
Must be able to obtain a
Proficiency with troubleshooting and maintaining both plumbing and oil heating systems.
Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and adaptability to challenging environments.
Familiarity with health and safety regulations, particularly in northern or industrial settings.
Comfortable working in remote and extreme weather conditions.
Availability to work rotational shifts, including extended hours if necessary.
