What will you do in this job?:
The Programming & Events Supervisor is an ultimate host who spends most of their work week providing exceptional guest experiences, executing The Banff Gondola’s Programming and Animation activities.

Banff Gondola Programming includes Nightrise, Mountaintop Christmas, Bloom and Brunch, Locals’ Days, Banff Pride, and more. Duties will include set-up, tear-down, coordinating performers and contractors, and execution of activity stations as appropriate.

When not busy executing programming plans, the P&E Supervisor will be on the floor with guests, delivering the Banff Gondola Animation program. These fun activities can include marshmallow roasting, arts and crafts, games and more.

The P&E Supervisor will also support The Gondola’s ongoing décor programming, ensuring our spaces are in world-class condition and are welcoming.

At times, the P&E Supervisor will be tasked with supporting weddings and corporate events as well as Banff Gondola employee engagement programs and Promise to Place initiatives.
As needed, the P&E Supervisor will support the Programming team’s administrative and planning work. They may also be called upon to perform supervisory duties in Upper Terminal, supporting the Guest Experience team when needed.
The P&E Supervisor will be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
What skills and experience do you need for this job?:
Selection Criteria
A positive, energetic, and self-motivated attitude
Strong customer focus providing friendly, professional and efficient service
Prior experience in hospitality and/or special events
Familiarity with basic sound systems
Effective problem solving and critical thinking skills
Demonstrate high levels of positive energy and a willingness to take on new challenges
Ability to thrive and lead in a fast-paced environment
Attention to detail and good communication and listening skills with local and international guests and staff
Solid knowledge of the products and services available in Banff and its surroundings
Passion for employee and guest safety / Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
First Aid Training an asset
AGLC Pro-Serve certified for alcohol service
Successful criminal record check
