This is a temporary position from October 29- November 6, 2022

The Opportunity
As part of our award-winning hospitality services, Banff Centre features a number of dining options for guests and participants - fine dining and beautifully appointed banquets; market-style choices for daily dining; casual options for a quick bite, take-away, or pub-style fare; room service delivered to either guest bedrooms or meeting spaces.

The Food and Beverage department is looking for a Bartender to be responsible for the friendly and efficient set-up, service, tear-down and cleaning of all assigned beverage areas which could include the main dining room, special function rooms, Jenny Belzberg Theatre, Maclab Bistro, and remote locations. Our Bartenders ensure prompt and efficient service of all beverage items in accordance with AGLC laws and the standards of excellence set forth by Banff Centre. We are looking for a motivated individual with a passion for providing superior customer service.

Roles and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager, Food & Beverage, below are some key accountabilities:

Positively engaging our guests
Setting up and stocking bar stations and any other required pre-event set-up
Preparing and serving alcoholic beverages
Tearing down bar stations and tidying up spaces post-event
Taking payment when applicable
Qualification and Educational Requirements
Has previous experience as a bartender in a professional environment
Completion of Alberta ProServe certification
Is able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Possess a high standard of customer service and good organizational skills
Enjoys interacting with a diverse group of people (artists, leadership participants, conference delegates, etc.)
Is able to work effectively while under pressure due to time constraints or large volumes of people
Special Requirements
Due to the nature of the job, this position requires the candidate to be available to work a flexible, irregular schedule including evenings and weekends.
Due to liquor license requirements, only candidates 18 years and older can be considered for this position.
Employment Terms & Benefits
In accordance with CUPE 4318, this is a unionized, hourly support staff position, subject to a 500-hour probation period.
This position pays $16.60 per hour working up to 30 hours per week on a rotating schedule.
