Our FYidoctors - Banff and FYidoctors Canmore clinics are looking for someone like you to bring your exceptional skills and experience with you and join us as our newest Optical Associate.

This position is a full-time fixed-term role working 30-40 hours per week. Our clinic is open Monday to Saturday. This is a term position until May 2026.

You will play a critical role within FYidoctors and are crucial to our success by delivering world-class service to our patients. You'll often be the first point of contact with the public, so you must bring with you your passion for people and your drive to deliver an exceptional customer experience. With your help, we'll continue to have a positive impact on our current patients' health and well-being, as well as the patients we haven't yet met.

What Will You Be Doing?

Welcoming patients into the clinic, providing excellent customer service and fostering a positive patient experience
Educating clients about the best eyewear choices for their lifestyle, ensuring they receive the best in value and quality
Informing patients about advances in corrective eyewear solutions as well as assisting with the selection of frames to suit your client's aesthetic and performance needs
Interpreting optical prescriptions as written by an optometrist
Performing frame and facial measurements to ensure correct fit and positioning of new eyewear and performing repairs and adjustments to returning patients'
Placing Contact Lens orders and assisting with fittings
Communicating with patients in person, by phone and by email
Billing the patient, their medical service provider and other third parties
Managing appointment bookings, prescription printouts and billing and payments
What Do You Bring?

Previous experience in a customer-facing, preferably retail environment preferred
Previous optical experience is considered an asset
Passionate about customer service
A high level of comfort using technology and computers
A great communicator who can provide exceptional patient care
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
