Full job description
Description: As a Primary Care Paramedic you will transport ill or injured patients from scenes of emergency and/or between facilities. This includes operating ambulances or other modes of transportation, assessing emergency scenes and patients. You may treat patients by administering minor medications, basic life support (BLS) airway adjuncts, and semi-automated defibrillation. You may also lead the BLS crew in delivering clinical care during patient transport or at emergency scenes. You will assist with ensuring that ambulances or other Emergency Medical Services (EMS) vehicles, such as transfer vans, are properly stocked and equipped. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA Paramedical Professional/Technical Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:
Required Qualifications: Primary Care Paramedic Certificate. Registration with Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP) as a Primary Care Paramedic. National Association of Professional Driving certification.

Additional Required Qualifications:
Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Alberta Health Services Medical Control Protocol (MCP) Certification. Professional Driver Improvement Course (P.D.I.C.) Training. Incident Command System (100 or greater) training.
