Banff is a world class destination, it’s on every backpacker’s bucket list, both for the unspoiled wilderness and outdoors opportunities the National Park has to offer. The town is internationally renowned for being a great place to work, live and party with young travel driven people from all over the world. And there’s no better place to do this than at our hostel.

We’re a team of avid travellers who’ve chosen to work in this place, and this hostel, because we want to be immersed in a culture of other like-minded people who believe in respecting each other, learning about other people’s cultures, making meaningful connections, and getting the best out of their Canadian experience.

Our staff accommodation has everything you need and is extremely affordable, one of the cheapest in town, fully furnished with all utilities included. We have a fleet of mountain bikes and all the camping equipment you need to get out and explore even more. You’ll have access to our staff vehicle to access remote trailheads and you’ll get to stay for free at any of our 13 properties in the Canadian Rockies. A trip to Jasper, a getaway in Kananaskis, a city trip to Calgary, we’ve got you and your friends covered, all the way to Whistler B.C.

What you will be doing as a Maintenance staff

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Staff are the behind-the-scenes support of our operation! As Maintenance Staff, you know the ins and outs of carpentry, painting, and plumbing and are the go-to person for odd jobs and repairs.

Ensuring that the overall maintenance of the interior and exterior of the hostel are kept up to standard - includes general repairs, painting, carpentry, some plumbing, caulking, window washing, landscaping…

Other duties as assigned, including projects at the Banff National Park Wilderness properties, with potential overnight stays for longer projects.

What we are looking for

Previous experience operating power tools safely and responsibly.

Excellent communication and trouble-shooting skills.

You must also have the demonstrated ability to work independently.

Valid Canadian driver's license.

Must have basic knowledge of plumbing, electricity, carpentry.
