The Bow Valley Immigration Partnership (BVIP) is a collective impact initiative involving dozens of groups, organizations, and individuals who are working to build a more welcoming and inclusive community, where immigrants and non-immigrants connect, thrive, and know they belong. One of over 80 Local Immigration Partnerships (LIPs) across Canada, BVIP is funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to identify and address local integration needs. The Town of Banff proudly supports this multi-sector initiative as the contract holder with IRCC.

The Bow Valley Immigration Partnership Coordinator is responsible for managing day to day operations of the Bow Valley Immigration Partnership including supervision of supporting staff and contractors as well as management of staff-led projects and activities. The coordinator facilitates long term strategic planning, guides implementation of BVIP members’ shared strategy, leads periodic research efforts, and maintains strong relationships with a variety of interested and affected parties.

You model your commitment to principles of diversity and inclusion and are able to apply your interpersonal experiences to diplomatically and tactfully manage sensitive discussions with diverse groups and organizations. You are confident in your knowledge of newcomer settlement and integration processes and challenges in Canada and as a further asset are able to communicate in languages in addition to English. This position sometimes conducts work across seven days a week and in evenings. You are familiar with the Bow Valley (geography, community and services) and are able to drive throughout the region. A valid Class 5 Alberta licence, a clear driver’s abstract and an RCMP criminal background check with vulnerable sector clearance will be required on hire.
