Scope

As the first and last impression for our guests, Bellhops are responsible for creating a positive guest experience through welcoming, knowledgeable, and helpful service. The Bellhop is responsible for assisting with luggage, parking, shuttle driving and room deliveries, striving to exceed guests’ expectations.

Duties & Responsibilities

Genuinely and positively interact with guests at every opportunity.
Greet guests upon arrival and open doors.
Provide directions for parking control in-coming and out-going traffic.
Valet park cars and retrieve cars as per request, with diligence and care.
Ensure driveway and entrance are clean and clear of garbage, dirt, snow and ice.
Assist guests in arranging for transportation services.
Store luggage for guests and correctly identify stored bags.
Assist guests with transporting luggage or bring baggage up to guests rooms and retrieve them when requested.
Deliver housekeeping items and packages to guest rooms or respective departments.
Take and retrieve luggage carts as required.
Provide information regarding the Hotel, its layout, and services.
Provide information on Banff, Banff National Park, and local activities and dining options.
Physical Demands

Constant walking and standing
Occasional sitting and driving cars
Frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds / 22 kg
Occasional pushing of luggage carts weighing up to 200 pounds / 90 kg
Occasional lifting item weighing up to 100 pounds / 45 kg
Frequently working outside in cold or hot weather for extended periods of time
Qualifications

Able to meet the physical demands of the position
Must have a valid driver's license equivalent to Alberta Class 5 and clean driver's abstract
Must be available to work flexible hours including late night and early morning shifts on rotation
Must be comfortable driving large trucks, luxury vehicles, and vehicles with standard transmission
Previous guest services or bell desk experience preferred
Customer-service oriented with excellent communication skills
Demonstrates a professional, friendly personality in person and over the phone
Capable of managing multiple tasks at once while maintaining high quality work
Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Word and Outlook
The Bellhop receives tips in addition to the hourly wage.

Eligible for extended medical and dental benefits after 6 months of full time employment.
