We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Licensed Mechanic & Fleet Manager to join our team and ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of all hotel vehicles and equipment. As the Licensed Mechanic & Fleet Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing a comprehensive preventive maintenance program, managing repairs, and maintaining accurate records. Your dedication to safety, effective communication, and team coordination will be essential in maintaining the quality and functionality of our equipment.

Competitive Salary: $86,000-$90,000 gross annually, based on previous experience & education

4-day work week (Monday–Thursday) with 3 days off; flexibility required based on business needs

Job Duties Include:

Reporting to the Golf Course Superintendent, the Equipment & Fleet Manager responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Inspects, diagnoses and repairs mechanical defects/failures in various golf course maintenance equipment including, diesel-, electric- and gasoline-powered automobiles, golf cart fleet, trucks, sweepers, mowers, and other mechanical equipment used in utility work.
Be able to Complete Alberta Transportation Commercial Vehicle Inspections
Perform safety inspection and record keeping of hotel vehicle fleet
Repairs and maintains all Hotel Vehicles and road fleet.
Be available to receive future training on new technologies such as Hybrids, alternative fuels and electric equipment and vehicles.
Prepare scheduling for the team
Mentoring & provide on-going guidance for the Assistant Mechanic
Grinds reels and rotary blades to high precision.
Prioritizes equipment repair and maintenance work, ensuring repairs are done in a timely fashion to meet the guests' needs.
Creates preventive maintenance programs on all equipment.
Responsible for inventory stocking, tracking, and budgetary requirements of all shop equipment and supplies including PPE.
Fuels use recording and purchasing
Record equipment inputs per unit. Tracking labor and part costs.
Does periodic infield follow-up on equipment being used.
Oversees the compound and ensures and promotes a crisp, cleaned, well-maintained organized facility.
Is responsible for the set up and testing of turf cultural equipment
Assists with snow removal when required
Supporting the Superintendent with forecasting of capital purchase
Other duties as assigned
Your Skills & Qualifications:

5 years previous Automotive or Heavy Duty mechanics OR Equipment Manager experience.
Certified Automotive Service Technician is required
Strong understanding of preventive maintenance principles and practices.
Computer knowledge is required – Word, Excel, Outlook, Golf and Vehicle fleet software
Valid class 5 driver’s license is required with an up to date driver’s abstract provided (dated within 30 days)
Knowledge of forecasting and budgeting for capital equipment purchases
Must be a team player who works well with staff and guests
Must be able to/or learn to drive standard transmission vehicles/equipment
Working knowledge of light / heavy maintenance equipment and automotive apparatuses.
Skilled in the use of a variety of equipment repair tools, and the making of various types of repairs
Fabricating experience is an asset.
Ability to provide your own tools.
