Position Overview

The Assistant Manager, Retail Services plays a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing various aspects of warehouse operations and retail initiatives. This multifaceted role involves meticulous coordination, strategic planning, and collaborative efforts across different functional areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Retail Guest Service Leadership:
Collaborate with Guest Services for Snowboard and Ski reservations.
Provide assistance with special requests for equipment.
Provide technical assistance to guests for ski and snowboard selection.
Coordinate with wholesale and North American sales reps regarding retail or equipment requests.
Collaborate with Guest Services for AFD requests.

CMH Lookbook Leadership:
Curate products for CMH lookbook and craft compelling stories for the homepage.
Coordinate digital assets with vendors.
Address online guest inquiries and requests.

Retail Inventories
Travel to lodges and accurately count and record physical inventories

Lodge Shop Support
When required, be available and able to travel to remote lodges and provide onsite support

Award Coordination:
Facilitate tracking and timing of award presentations.
Address guest requests for special items related to Million Foot and Alpinist Awards

Snowboard Fleet Management:
Oversee an annual snowboard buy.
Coordinate with Vendors, including obtaining demo snowboards for testing.
Collect feedback from lodges and guests to select suitable snowboards.
Collaborate with our Equipment Specialists to assess needs for parts, boards, and bindings.
Facilitate product knowledge sessions for fall training.

Equipment Waivers
Update and distribute Equipment Release forms annually.
Review Equipment Release forms and file for storage.

Buying Team Assistance:
Attend vendor viewings and provide feedback on potential purchases.
Assist in researching suitable product and collaborating on SMUs.
Analyze retail OTB reports for sales, overstock, and understock by category.

All employees will support the implementation of CMH health and safety and sustainability initiatives and participate in training and provide assistance as required during emergency response situations.

Minimum Qualifications
Post-secondary education in a related field.
1-2 years of experience in a professional office setting.
3+ years of experience in ski industry related retail.
2+ years of Ski / Snowboard Tech Shop experience.

A positive, collaborative working style is essential, with the ability to build meaningful relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and strategic planning abilities are crucial. The candidate must be able to communicate clearly, effectively, and in a timely manner, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn other relevant software platforms are important, as is the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating seasonal workloads and changing priorities. The role requires a trustworthy, goal-oriented, respectful, and self-directed individual who can navigate complex responsibilities. Additionally, the candidate must have the confidence to interact with all levels of the company, including those in remote locations within a hub-and-spoke model.

Working Conditions
Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis.
This position is required, at times, to work on evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the business.
This position may require occasional travel to CMH areas, as well as some travel to industry functions on an occasional basis.
