Medical Office Assistant – Permanent Part-Time (0.70 FTE)
Location: Alpine Medical Clinic, Banff, Alberta

Alpine Medical Clinic is looking for a reliable, organized, and personable Medical Office Assistant to join our team in a permanent part-time position (0.70 FTE) with opportunity for summer expansion (June–August) up to full-time hours.

This is not a temporary summer job. We’re seeking someone who is committed to working year-round as part of a busy, fast-paced healthcare team.

Schedule:

Permanent, year-round hours:

Monday: 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Tuesday to Thursday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Occasional additional hours may be available to cover vacations, sick time, or clinic needs, including weekend shifts.Required Qualifications:

Must have previous experience in a busy office or medical setting
Must currently reside in the Bow Valley area
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure while maintaining professionalism
Commitment to patient confidentiality and respectful communication
Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office, email, scheduling software, etc.)
High school diploma required
Preferred Assets:

Post-secondary education in health or administrative fields
Medical terminology, anatomy, or basic science background
Experience with billing (Alberta Health) and insurance forms
Social media skills (e.g., for occasional clinic communication updates)
1+ year of customer service or healthcare experience
Ability to remain calm, empathetic, and professional in high-stress or emotional situations
Responsibilities:

Greet and assist patients in person and over the phone
Book appointments and manage daily schedules
Answer and direct phone calls and messages
Help patients complete intake forms and documentation
Prepare correspondence, reports, and patient files
Maintain exam rooms, stock supplies, and support clinic organization
Submit billing claims and process patient payments
Support occasional social media or communications updates
General administrative duties as required
