SKI/ SNOWBOARD INSTRUCTOR ALL LEVELS
FUN, ACTION, EXCITEMENT, EXPLORATION, ACHIEVEMENT

Dates: Early November – May Long Weekend (weather and business levels dependent)
Wage: $20.00 -$31.00/hr depending on your certification level plus a performance based incentive bonus

What can you expect?
The primary role of a Ski/Snowboard Instructor is to provide professional ski and snowboard education and instruction based on the client’s capabilities. You will be responsible for the experience of clients while skiing or snowboarding on the mountain. For this experience to be the best possible, instructors must actively ensure; safety is paramount at all times, technical assistance is sound and personalized to the client/s, genuine rapport with the client/s is established, each lesson is personalized and professional and passion for the sport is portrayed.

Teaching Skiing or Snowboarding
As needed, acting in a supervisory capacity
Organizing or assisting with assignment of lessons if required
Motivating and encouraging fellow instructors
Assisting with Instructor training or mentoring when needed
Maintaining Intermediate to Expert skiing abilities
Maintaining a high level of customer service and ensuring that Sunshine Ski & Snowboard School is presented in the best possible light
Attending ski school morning meetings and conducting morning meetings where needed
Being punctual to ski school lesson line ups and interacting with students before lessons
Leading client/s and teaching according to ability, age and stamina level
Assessing clients skiing or snowboarding abilities and using proper terrain and lesson plans for effective learning
Tailoring each lesson based on the assessment and the student’s goals and attending to special needs
Demonstrating basic maneuvers for your class
Providing a fun and interactive learning environment that will exceed any client’s goals/ expectations
Recognizing changing snow conditions and understanding how they may affect you approach
Maintaining class control while out on the mountain and promote safety rules and regulations
Maintaining a safe learning environment related to the clients, inclusive of all relevant Sunshine policies
Understanding emergency procedures in case of accidents, including accident report completion
Adhering to the Alpine Responsibility Code at all times and ensuring group participants are aware and adhering to the Code
Assisting with Special Events when required
Owning and maintaining your own ski equipment as required for work purposes
Performing other duties as required (e.g. shoveling, snow fencing etc...)
And you have:
Level 1, 2, 3, 4 CSIA or CASI Certification or equivalent international certification.
Ability to assess and build plans for individuals
Should possess some relevant teaching or instructing experience
Willingness to personally improve and learn new skills
Must be able to work weekends and holidays
Must be able to manage fluctuation in work schedule through the season with varied work days (5 - 6 day weeks during peak times and 4 - 5 day weeks during quiet times)
Communicate effectively in English both written and verbally comfortably to groups and individuals in person and on the phone
