As a part of our team, you are committed to “Taking Care of Banff’s” indoor and outdoor facilities. Your knowledge and keen attention to detail ensures the safe and well-maintained standards of appearance and smooth operation of our Town of Banff facilities.

You have experience in general maintenance to effectively diagnose (including trouble-shooting), delegate and resolve a range of maintenance and repairs required in plumbing, electrical and HVAC, carpentry and painting (indoor and outdoor). You enjoy the variety of tasks in unique buildings from the Fire Hall to parkades and in the outdoors (benches, railings, fences, snow removal, etc.). You can meet the physical demands to perform a variety of physical tasks in tight locations with lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying a range of objects with weights up to 50 lbs. You are happy to work outside in any kind of weather or to work inside and be on your feet for your 8 hour shift.

You have a passion for making sure things work, demonstrated by your knowledge and skills in executing preventative maintenance programs and overseeing contracted services. You thrive on interactions with colleagues and contractors and are recognized as friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and professional.

You have at least five year training and work experience in maintenance, building repair or trade positions and are committed to workplace health and safety. Certificates in Fifth Class Power Engineering or related Building Operator designations are considered an asset. You are proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint) and familiarity with work order tracking systems, building automation, security systems and related legislated building codes are further assets.

Successful candidates are required to provide the following on hire: proof of COVID-19 full vaccination, RCMP criminal background check with vulnerable sector clearance and current and clear Drivers Abstract. A more detailed position description is available on request.
