Shoku Izakaya is Banff's first Japanese Pub, serving a wide array of Japanese and Asian dishes with an extensive Sake list and creative cocktails. Opened in February 2021, it has been voted Banff's best new restaurant by the Rocky Mountain Outlook's "Best of Banff" readership survey. We are looking for enthusiastic, talented cooks to join our team of Japanese and International kitchen team.

Job description

As a member of Banff's first Izakaya, you will be responsible for the preparation and execution of various Japanese and other Asian dishes in a dynamic kitchen setting. You will have the opportunity to work with skilled Japanese and international chefs while expanding your cooking repertoire.

Minimum 2 years of experience in either a Japanese or Asian restaurant or a restaurant serving global cuisine with an accent on tapas or small plates along with a deep culinary interest and desire to deliver an outsatnding taste experience to our customers on a daily basis. Sound Asian food knowledge / preparation / plating experience / Sushi proficiency are important assets. You must be a team player, punctual, clean, organized and efficient. Food safety certification is an asset.
