Scope
To train Housekeeping Attendants in appropriate work techniques, ensure guest rooms are cleaned to required standards, and assist Housekeeping Attendants as needed to meet cleanliness requirements and business needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
Accountable for quality control and hands-on training and mentoring of Housekeeping Attendants and fellow Room Quality Checkers, conducting re-training as needed.
Ensure new staff are familiar with hotel facilities and housekeeping procedures.
Conduct quality inspections of guest rooms to ensure rooms are at the highest level of cleanliness and meet Hotel standards, policies, and procedures.
Assist Housekeeping Attendants as needed to ensure business needs are met.
Coordinate cleaning priorities and special assignments with Housekeeping Leadership team.
Monitor the performance of Housekeeping Attendants and report to Housekeeping Leadership.
Report maintenance issues to Housekeeping Office or create a service order for Engineering department.
Ensure lost and found items are appropriately labelled and returned to the Housekeeping Office.
Be knowledgeable of Hotel standards for cleanliness in public areas.
Be knowledgeable of Health & Safety, WHMIS, SDS, PPE and Hotel emergency procedures.
Encourage participation in the Hotel’s Green program.
Provide a positive and motivating work environment.
Provide a safe and healthy environment for both guests and staff.
Ensure hotel security is protected by knowing proper emergency procedures and following them.
Physical Demands

Significant standing and walking
Frequent kneeling, squatting, crouching
Frequent stretching and twisting
Frequent reaching above and below shoulder level
Frequent lifting and carrying up to 22 pounds / 10 kg
Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds / 23 kg
Exposure to hot, humid, dusty, indoor spaces
Exposure to chemicals or controlled substances
Qualifications

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
Previous Housekeeping experience an asset
Must be available to work a flexible schedule
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated, results-oriented, and driven to meet objectives
Demonstrates strong leadership skills and the ability to positively motivate colleagues
Guest-oriented with keen observational skills and attention to detail
Able to make informed decisions through organizing, planning, and taking ownership to assigned responsibilities
