Scope

The Supervisor will ensure a superior cleaning standard for all flatware, tableware, and kitchen equipment and is responsible for maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organization within our Kitchen, Stewarding, and F&B area.

Duties & Responsibilities
Lead and Supervise the Stewarding Team in all aspects of the department and ensure Rimrock standards are followed.
Train all Stewards and Stewarding Night Cleaners on the safe use of chemicals and appropriate cleaning of kitchen equipment.
Assist Stewarding staff with their job functions when needed to ensure optimum cleanliness and service standards.
Fully understand the safe use and application of chemicals and other hazardous supplies.
Ensure dishwashing machines operate at an optimum level with correct temperature and chemicals.
Communicate Kitchen and restaurant service needs to Stewarding team throughout the shift and ensure that all requirements are met.
Stock crockery, glassware, and kitchen equipment in appropriate work stations.
Ensure all breakages and chipped items are removed from circulation and inventoried for warranty.
Support the Chief Steward and Assistant Chief Steward in tracking of inventory of china, glassware, silverware and tableware from the outlets and main storage.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is in working order, reporting any items in need of repair and creating an engineering request.
Review all BEOs and ensure all set-ups and supplies are in place for each function.
Assisting kitchen with plated and buffet functions (plate ups) as needed.
Ensure Stewarding area is clean at all times i.e. tables, walls, machines etc.
Supervise and maintain the sanitation of kitchen equipment and other assigned areas in accordance with the Alberta Health Code and Hotel Standards.
Other related duties as assigned.

Frequent lifting, carrying, and stacking items up to 11 pounds / 5 kg
Occasional crouching, ascending and descending stairs and ramps
Occasional pushing of carts weighing up to 100 pounds / kg
Occasional lifting items up to 50 pounds / 23 kg
Working in a hot, humid, noisy environment
Exposure to chemicals, fumes, electrical equipment, flames, oil, and dust
Qualifications
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
Post secondary education in hotel or hospitality management is an asset
1 to 2 years of experience as a Supervisor in a restaurant environment
Working knowledge of WHMIS
Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated leadership and teamwork abilities
Keen attention to detail and high professional standards, even while under pressure
Positive and responsible problem-solver
Contributes to a motivating work environment
