The Housekeeping Worker is responsible for cleaning and disinfecting public, patient and office areas including the collection of waste.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 10 or recognized equivalent required.

Additional Required Qualifications:
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Possess good time management skills, able to follow directions, work to deadlines and has attention for detail. Capable to meet the physical demands of the position; frequently required to lift weights up to 30 pounds (13.6 kg). Ability to perform specialized cleaning procedures in isolation areas (OR, patient rooms, isolation rooms)-training provided. Strong interpersonal skills and training in customer relations. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to follow directions and guidelines. High standards for cleanliness and sanitation. Good attention to detail. Demonstrates a high degree of confidentiality and high levels of honesty and integrity. Provide a clear Criminal Records Check with vulnerable sector. Competent computer skills a good portion training and education is on-line.

Preferred Qualifications:
WHMIS training preferred. Previous housekeeping experience in a health care setting an asset. High School Diploma preferred.
