STAFF ACCOMMODATION AVAILABLE

No Prior Ropes/ Tour Guide Experience Necessary

This position is responsible for ensuring the safety of all guests while providing an exceptional zipline tour experience. After being hired, all guides must participate in a one week hands on training program and pass the practical and written exam at the end of the one week.

The training program teaches you the following guide responsibilities: setting stop ropes, tying required knots, assisting guests in proper harness and helmet fitting, demonstrating proper zipping techniques, operating the zipline activity, breaking guest’s speed upon incoming approach, performing retrievals and rescues, inspecting equipment, and educating guests about local history and environment.

Guide Skills and Qualifications:

Be able to communicate effectively with people of all ages

Being eager to work in a team environment

Overcome Adversity while maintaining a positive attitude

Prior experience with outdoor recreation, athletics, educational roles, high ropes experience or ziplining is an asset but not a requirement

Physical Fitness is a must, ability to lift 20-50 pound of gear several times a day

Capable of hiking up to six kilometres regardless of weather conditions

Comfortable working outdoors in all weather condition (Heat, Rain, Cold, Smoke)

Comfortable working at height

Be able to walk and stand for long periods of time

Assist in with overall zipline site appearance, cleanliness, and path maintenance

Two training sessions, first one in May and second one in Mid June.
