Full job description
Located in the breathtaking Canadian Rockies the Jeff Walker Gallery is seeking to expand our team with a Sales Manager. The Jeff Walker Gallery is a fine-art photography gallery by local artist Jeff Walker, with two locations in Banff and Canmore.

Our team prides itself on our positive experience and thoughtful sales approach, as we carefully curate connections between the artwork and collectors. We are looking for a driven Sales Manager to help promote and expand the gallery’s reach while fostering strong relationships with our Collectors.

The successful candidate will have a proven sales background, as s/he will be responsible for the sales performance and success of the gallery. You will be tasked with working with Management and Art Consultants on the sales process of in-house and online sales, generating new leads, converting leads into new art collectors and expanding our sales reach. We are looking for someone who will be with the gallery long-term and is excited about growth and opportunity.

Responsibilities:

Lead & Influence Sales Strategy: Develop and execute sales strategies to increase gallery revenue, build a loyal client base, and increase the sale of photographic artworks.
Collector Relations: Cultivate and nurture relationships with existing and potential & collectors. Provide an exceptional customer experience resulting in returning collectors.
Sales Management: Oversee a small sales team, monitor performance, and provide guidance and training to ensure that all team members are knowledgeable and provide excellent service.
Market Awareness: Track trends in photography and art sales, keeping a pulse on the local art market and adjusting strategies accordingly.
Admin: Manage customer databases, sales logs, and work closely with Gallery Managers to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales in a high-end retail environment. Team management experience is a plus.
Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with collectors and colleagues, conveying the value and story behind the artwork.
Leadership: Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to meet sales goals and provide outstanding customer service.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively, working well under pressure.
Tech Proficiency: Familiarity with POS (Shopify), CRM systems, and general office tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Monday.com).
