Buffalo Mountain Lodge with Canadian Rocky Mountain Resorts is hiring for a Housekeeping Manager.

Position: Housekeeping Manager

Report to: General Manager/Assistant GM

Department: Housekeeping

Hours: As required

Primary Function: The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring exceptional cleanliness and orderliness in guest rooms and public areas of the lodge. This is a hands-on leadership role that involves actively participating in daily operations while managing the housekeeping team, coordinating activities, and ensuring that guest requests are addressed with promptness and courtesy. The Housekeeping Manager is expected to lead by example, working alongside their team to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

v Team Management and Development

· Onboard, train and supervise all housekeeping staff

· Ensure ongoing training and knowledge of cleaning supplies and techniques

· Schedule and evaluate all housekeeping staff

· Foster positive employee relations through clear communication and engagement

· Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members

v Quality Control and Standards

· Set and uphold quality control policies, best practices, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

· Conduct daily inspections to ensure standards are consistently met

· Create and update daily checklists for housekeepers, housemen, and supervisors

· Resolve guest complaints and issues professionally and promptly

v Operational Management

· Liaise between housekeeping, front desk, and maintenance teams

· Ensure compliance with legislation, health & safety regulations, and company policies

· Manage linen and cleaning/amenities inventories

· Conduct monthly ordering of supplies and maintain accurate inventory records

· Ensure all rooms are ready by check in time

· Keep labor costs and other related expenses within budgeted goals

· Maintain an accurate log of all lost & found items

· Report all maintenance defects in rooms and public areas to Maintenance

v Administrative Responsibilities

· Attend required meetings

· Complete and submit payroll every second Sunday

· Handle administrative paperwork

· Create weekly schedules for staff

· Develop monthly extra duties for housekeepers, housepersons & supervisors

v Continuous Improvement

· Regularly review and update cleaning procedures and products

· Implement eco-friendly practices where possible

· Stay informed about industry trends and best practices

Requirements/Experience:

· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in housekeeping management, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort setting

· Proven track record of maintaining high cleanliness standards and positive guest feedback

· In-depth knowledge of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment

· Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in the hospitality industry

· Excellent leadership and team management skills

· Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management systems

· Exceptional attention to detail

· Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively

· Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays

· Ability to stand for extended periods and walk throughout the property
