Welcome! Banff Park Lodge Collection operates 3 hotel properties - Banff Park Lodge, Bow View Lodge, and Peaks Hotel & Suites. We also operate 2 restaurants - La Terrazza and Crave Mountain Grill. Job Summary:

The Bell Captain leads the bell team to provide exceptional guest service, handling luggage, arrivals, and departures, while also managing administrative duties. These include scheduling, gratuity tracking, enhancement tracking, creating SOPs, and creating/ updating checklists. The role also incorporates concierge responsibilities, offering local knowledge, recommendations, and assistance with reservations and special requests to enhance the guest experience.

Job Duties include (but are not limited to)

1. Leadership & Staff Supervision:

Supervise, train, and mentor bell team, fostering a positive, guest-oriented service environment.
Provide regular training on guest interactions, local area information, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Ensure grooming and uniform standards are followed by all members of the bell team.
2. Guest Service & Concierge Support:

Greet guests upon arrival and departure, ensuring a warm and welcoming experience.
Assist guests with luggage handling, escort them to rooms, and provide room and hotel orientation.
Act as a concierge resource by offering local knowledge, recommending restaurants, attractions, and events.
Arrange reservations for dining, tours, transportation, and other guest requests, coordinating with external vendors as needed.
Proactively anticipate guest needs and respond to inquiries related to local attractions, shopping, and services.
3. Administrative Duties:

Scheduling: Develop and manage bell team schedules, ensuring smooth operations and adequate coverage during peak hours and events.
Gratuity Tracking: Track and maintain accurate records of gratuities to ensure fair distribution among bell team.
SOPs & Checklists: Create and update SOPs and checklists to ensure consistent service and efficient bell desk operations.
Inventory Management: Oversee the inventory of luggage carts, amenities, and bell desk equipment, ensuring everything is in good working order.
4. Operational Duties:

Luggage: Safely handle and manage guest luggage, including storage, retrieval, and accurate record-keeping.
Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bell desk and storage areas, ensuring all equipment is operational.
Schedule: Work overnight shifts occasionally, as needed.
5. Coordination & Communication:

Liaise with front desk, housekeeping, and concierge to ensure seamless guest experience.
Assist guests with transportation arrangements, including coordinating with local transportation services.
6. Safety & Security:

Enforce safety protocols and monitor bell areas for security, preventing theft, damage, or guest injury.
Assist with emergency procedures, providing guidance to guests and ensuring staff follow safety measures.
Our ideal candidate has:

2 years front office experience.
1-2 years supervisory experience (preferred).
Strong communication, leadership, administrative, and organizational skills.
Local area knowledge and the ability to coordinate reservations.
Ability to frequently lift and/or carry up to 50lbs.
Professional and friendly demeanor.
Passion for guest service and experience.
