What will be your daily pursuit?:
As an IT Engineer, you will support IT operations for Banff Jasper Collection properties located in Banff, Alberta and also some of our remote sites.
Compensation:
$18.00 - $22.00 an hour

What will you do in this job?:
Assist staff with technical support of desktop computers, applications, and related technology
Support includes specification, installation, and testing of computer systems and peripherals within established standards and guidelines
Activities require interaction with application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve unique, non-recurring problems
One-on-one consultancy with end users and Support Services staff
Assists in the maintenance and testing of network servers and associated equipment
Independent analyses, communication and problem solving
Work is performed with little supervision and requires initiative and judgement
Assists staff with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software within established standards and guidelines
Works with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software
Works with Service Desk and Network Operations staff as appropriate to determine and resolve problems received from clients
Interact with numerous computer platforms in a multi-layered client server environment
Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers, and administrative systems
Trains and orients staff on use of hardware and software
Assists in maintaining LAN/WAN records and, as appropriate, telephone systems
Participates in an on-call rotation to ensure appropriate IT support using the tools mentioned above.
What skills and experience do you need for this job?:
Practical experience in Information Technology.
Proficiency in Microsoft Products
Information Technology degree, diploma or related education preferred
Minimum of 1 years Desk Top support
Valid driver’s license required / Strong “can-do,” attitude with willingness to be flexible and adaptable. Organized, highly motivated individual that has excellent project and task management skills
Self-starter and thought leader for the Infrastructure department and is expected to bring ideas to the table for consideration.
Ability to make decisions, solve problems and exercise good judgment.
Professional, and able to patiently and effectively communicate complex concepts to audiences with varying skill levels, in person, on the phone, and via email.
Strong commitment to building positive working relationships.
Willingness to work with a geographically dispersed team in a seasonal environment.
Resourceful, with a curiosity to solve problems and create new solutions.
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Sense of urgency to complete job duties accurately and in a timely manner.
Sense of humor and ability to ‘let things roll’ when the unexpected happens.
Solid written and verbal communication skills.
Hospitality and service-focused mindset including the need to work successfully with both internal and external partners. / Strong sense of prioritization and focus to complete tasks.
Must have the ability to lift and move up to 100 lbs with assistance
Must be willing and able to work indoor and outdoor in varied weather conditions
Must already live in Canada and be prepared to acquire own living accommodation (No Staff housing available unless internal candidate already in situ)
Must be legally allowed to work in Canada
