As a Water Services Operator you “Take Care of Banff” by ensuring the quality of our water and wastewater systems is exceptional. You join a dedicated group of employees known to work hard and show passion and caring for our environment through safe and diligent practices. We take pride in serving our community of 9,000 residents, with a tourist and seasonal population which can exceed 30,000/day.

The Town of Banff is located in a world heritage site in Canada’s premier National Park. Living in Banff is an adventurers’ playground and offers a lifestyle that cannot be matched anywhere else. We are seeking a water professional looking to make Banff their home. We believe that living in Banff is an enriching experience and the Banff WWTP is a center of excellence with unmatched treatment performance, consistently producing high quality effluent.

The successful applicant will possess current Level III or IV certification in Wastewater Treatment and ideally have experience with Biological Nutrient Removal. We operate a modern Class IV wastewater treatment plant and consistently meet the strictest effluent discharge limits in the province of Alberta. Preference will be given to candidates with millwright experience or strong mechanical aptitude and maintenance experience in an industrial or municipal utility setting. A Class 3Q Alberta driver’s license with air endorsement is an asset, along with experience operating heavy and light equipment. Standard CPR and First Aid certifications are required. Laboratory experience in a wastewater setting is also highly desirable.
