Full job description
As a Plumber at Rimrock Banff, you will play an integral role in preserving the comfort, safety, and seamless operation of one of Canada’s most iconic luxury mountain resorts. Through your technical expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence, you will help deliver an exceptional guest experience by ensuring all plumbing systems and related infrastructure operate to the highest standards. Working within a collaborative Engineering team, you will contribute to a refined environment where reliability, professionalism, and guest comfort are paramount.

Pay Rate: $40 per hour

Key Responsibilities

Guest Service & Luxury Standards

Deliver professional, engaging, and thoughtful service in alignment with Rimrock luxury standards
Follow all departmental policies, procedures, and service standards
Respond promptly to guest room and operational work orders while maintaining discretion, professionalism, and attention to cleanliness
Coordinate with operational departments when scheduling work that may impact guest-facing areas
Plumbing Operations & Maintenance

Perform plumbing-related trade work across the property, including troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and installation
Maintain and repair domestic water distribution systems, heating and chilled water piping systems, storm and sanitary systems, and associated equipment
Respond promptly to emergency and scheduled plumbing concerns with a focus on quality workmanship, operational continuity, and minimal guest disruption
Implement both temporary and permanent solutions to maintain system performance and guest comfort
Execute preventive maintenance programs to ensure plumbing systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably
Complete all assigned work orders in a timely and professional manner with minimal operational impact
Specialized Systems Support

Perform maintenance and repairs on kitchen plumbing systems and related equipment, including sinks, drains, and fixtures
Conduct minor operational checks on kitchen refrigeration equipment, including walk-in coolers and freezers, and report deficiencies to the appropriate trade
Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting of pool and spa systems, including pumps, filtration equipment, valves, piping, and water circulation components
Projects & Continuous Improvement

Support renovation and capital projects through planning, installation, and execution activities
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on system efficiency, sustainability, and operational reliability
Remain current with evolving plumbing technologies, practices, and industry standards
Identify deficiencies, operational risks, and opportunities for infrastructure improvements
Inventory, Documentation & Equipment

Maintain accurate documentation of all work performed within the CMMS (Transcendent) system
Monitor inventory levels and communicate required parts and supplies to the Engineering leadership team to ensure operational readiness
Maintain organized storage areas and appropriate inventory control practices
Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in a clean, safe, and audit-ready condition
Team Collaboration & Contractor Coordination

Collaborate closely with Engineering team members and provide support to other trades as required
Support and monitor contractor activity to ensure compliance with hotel standards, safety protocols, and project expectations
Safety & Compliance

Ensure all plumbing work complies with Alberta Building Code requirements and applicable regulations
Adhere strictly to WHMIS, OHSA, and all hotel safety policies and procedures
Participate in emergency response situations, including leaks, flooding, and critical system failures
Adhere to hotel vehicle handling and safety policies when required
Qualifications

What You Bring:

Valid Journeyperson Plumber certification
Strong working knowledge of commercial plumbing systems and infrastructure
Basic understanding of refrigeration systems an asset
Solid understanding of WHMIS, OHSA, and safe work practices
Highly responsible, dependable, and capable of working independently
Ability to remain composed and effective in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Strong commitment to guest service excellence and operational quality
Bonus If You Bring:

Previous experience within a hospitality, resort, or large-scale commercial facility environment is considered an asset
Familiarity with CMMS systems
Physical Requirements:

Standing and walking
Bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing, and pulling regularly throughout shift
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Frequent use of ladders, stairs, and elevated work platforms
