Description
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and strategic planning of our warehouse. This role ensures the smooth and efficient functioning of all warehouse activities, including the supervision of warehouse staff, management of inventory, and ensuring high standards of safety and service. The Warehouse Manager will lead efforts to optimize workflow, enhance productivity, and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions
Oversee and manage the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient and accurate handling of goods.
Supervise and coordinate the activities of the warehouse staff, including the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor.
Develop and implement warehouse policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency and ensure compliance with company standards.
Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee the inventory control process, including regular audits.
Ensure timely and accurate distribution of incoming shipments and mail to all departments.
Manage detailed record-keeping for receiving logs and filing invoices.
Provide excellent service to both internal and external customers, addressing and resolving any issues or queries.
Demonstrate strong leadership skills by mentoring and training warehouse staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Ensure the overall cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and public spaces.
Oversee garbage, recycling, and snow/ice removal operations to maintain a safe and clean environment.
Manage linen and uniform distribution processes.
Coordinate and ensure timely filling and delivery of orders from various outlets.
Utilize effective communication skills to manage the transfer of shipments between different warehouse locations.
Monitor and ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
Experience/Requirements
Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar role.
Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Passion for providing outstanding customer service.
Experience in warehouse/stock room operations; trade skills (i.e., mechanical or laborer work) are an asset.
Willingness to work in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying.
Energetic, self-motivated, and positive attitude.
Proficiency in inventory management software and other relevant technologies.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
The Warehouse Manager will report to senior management and work closely with other departments to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction. This role requires a proactive approach, a strategic mindset, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
