About RMA
Rocky Mountain Adaptive (RMA) is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to enable children and adults with physical, developmental and/or cognitive challenges to participate, learn and excel in all sports and recreational activities in the Canadian Rockies. As a multi-sport, year-round organisation who provides access to mountain sport and recreation, RMA offers adaptive sports equipment, specialised instructors, trained volunteers and unique training opportunities. Activities include biking, canoeing, hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, skiing, snowboarding, swimming, white water rafting and much more!

Overview
An Adaptive Snowsports Instructor will assist RMA in their delivery of their adaptive winter sport programs by teaching and assisting in adaptive ski or snowboard lessons at Sunshine Village and other resorts. Other activity facilitation options may occur during the winter season.

Roles & Duties
The RMA Adaptive Snowsports instructor has a wide range of duties including some or all of the following:

Teach a variety of adaptive ski or snowboard lessons
Liaise with RMA guests and their families
Keep weekly reports of lessons
Assist with raising awareness of RMA and fundraising events
Perform other such duties as may be assigned
Working Conditions

Part-time position, 1-3 days per week
Required to work outdoors in Winter conditions
Will receive regular training in adaptive ski and ride instruction and ski and ride improvement
Term

Part time for a minimum of 15 days, November 8, 2023 – March/April, 2024 (flexible/substitute opportunities also available)
Must be available to work a minimum of 1 day between December 20, 2023 - January 5, 2024
Qualifications

Advanced skiing or riding abilities
Strong ability to adapt teaching methods
CSIA or CASI certifications or international equivalent (Minimum Level 1)
CADS certifications or international equivalent an asset
Mandatory background check
Remuneration

$16-19/hr + commensurate on experience and certifications
Season Pass for Sunshine Village
Training opportunities for CADS, CSIA, CASI and CSCF certifications
