You are a details-focused, quality-driven, event manager looking for a change of scenery and to continue using your planning skills in the special event industry.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

The role of the Event Manager is to facilitate the planning, organizing and implementation of all aspects of events. This is an in-person role, with work being performed in our office office, warehouse and on-site. The Event Manager will:

cultivate close working relationships with event partners, venues and clients;
ensure quality decor installations based on approved designs
lead operations event crew members during pre-event packing, event implementation and post-event wrap-up
book and arrange for delivery of all event-related items including decor, lightning, entertainment, etc
create and manage Scopes of Work, Critical Paths and Timelines for events
delegate tasks to team members to achieve results
lead, train and mentor junior team members
find and implement creative solutions to achieve success
be highly organized with clear, positive communication skills
be accountable for working within event budgets
KEY SKILLS

Work within standard operating procedures and create best practices in an effort to achieve Mountainscape’s Core Values: Professionalism, Creativity, Quality, Safety, Ethics, Green Initiatives
Experience with decor and lighting installations, or visual merchandising
Possess a valid driver’s license with clean driver's abstract, previous experience driving delivery vehicles is an asset
After training, will ensure competent, safe operation of driving delivery vehicles (1-ton, 3-ton, 5-ton, and cargo vans), including backing into loading docks, driving in traffic and on highways in all weather conditions
Display confidence with working at height and with ladders
Is able to regularly lift and routinely work with loads of 25kg
Works cooperatively and collegially with team members
Proficient with Google Docs/Sheets, Microsoft Office Suite,or similar software
Experience using project management software an asset
Work hours and work week vary with business levels. During normal business levels, you can anticipate working a 40-hour week, from 9am-5:30pm. This will be amended as events fill the schedule, night time work and weekend shifts occur on a regular basis. Schedules are determined and communicated to you by the Event Design Team and Senior Event Manager. Overtime may be required depending on business levels.
