STOP SCROLLING THROUGH HELP WANTED ADS - YOU HAVE FOUND YOUR DREAM JOB

We've promoted someone, so we need another fantastic person to join our team!

This role is designed for someone who is looking for an opportunity to break into the wedding & event industry. You're looking for a new career in a mountain town, but maybe not interested in conventional hospitality or retail work. You're an organized, creative professional who loves to stay busy. You love design trends, social media, food, fashion, and decor of all types. Hearing about your clients' vision gives you inspiration and you want to help bring that vision to life. This is an entry-level event industry role, with tons of opportunity for advancement. We have a small team with a collaborative atmosphere, so there is always something exciting to learn.

WHAT THE ROLE IS:

The Decor Consultant role is similar to a retail job - the only difference is, the product you're selling gets returned to the store - on purpose! You'll always be involved with doing something new as every event is different. You help your clients create amazing events using our vast inventory; assisting as they navigate our catalogue, generate quotes, estimate labour and delivery costs, provide logistical advice, convert quotes to active jobs, liaise with operations and complete contracts when the event is done. You will be communicating with clients over email and over the phone and meeting them in-person in our showroom to help them create table mock-ups. This is primarily an in-office role, but will periodically include visits to venues for sales calls. You will also have the chance to go onsite and help set up decor at events from time to time.

Rental Coordinators help our customers’ vision come to life in a number of different event-related avenues; including corporate events, weddings, private functions, sports events, outdoor festivals & more.

This is a role well suited to individuals who have previous experience in the event, retail, accommodation or food & beverage sectors.

WHO WE ARE:

Based in beautiful Banff, Alberta, Mountain Event Rentals is the premier supplier of quality event-related items serving the Rocky Mountain region. We pride ourselves in a positive, fun, inclusive work environment, valuing flawless event results while achieving work-life balance.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

Providing a fantastic first impression at our reception both in person and on the phone
Establishing rapport with your clients via phone calls and email , listening to their event needs and exceeding their expectations, creating excellent service experiences
Facilitating décor consultations/showroom visits, making product recommendations to match or enhance your client's vision
Generate rental quotes and convert them into active jobs, organize a large client base, accurately keeping track of numerous contracts at once
Excellent verbal and digital communication in English; skills in additional languages can be an asset but not required. Clear, accurate, friendly communication with clients, colleagues, venues & vendors
Organized email and communications workflows, responding to and following up on leads and inquiries from potential clients
Communicating with the operations department to create a flawless customer experience
Assisting in trend spotting to help with purchasing decisions
Periodically assisting operations team in onsite set decorating (event or rental setup), with Linen/textile processing and floral arrangement
Responsible for maintaining a presentable showroom and office environment for customers
Other event-related and administrative duties as required
