Full job description
The Unit Manager, reporting to the Site Administrator, is responsible for the day-to-day unit operation, including direct supervision of unit staff. This role interacts with physicians, nursing staff, Paramedics and other unit staff, other departments interdisciplinary team members, and community stakeholders daily and provides clinical support to patient/resident care by exception only. The position facilitates and fosters interdisciplinary participation in patient activities and coaches, mentors, motivates and empowers clinical staff. The Unit Manager creates a climate of interdepartmental respect and collaboration, and adheres and models the Covenant Health mission, vision and values. The responsibilities of this position are focused around four critical aspects of care and service: People and teams. Access and flow. Quality and safety. Efficiency and resources. This position is non-unionized.

Required Qualifications:
Current registration under the Health Professions Act. Current Heart and Stroke Foundation B.L.S. Certification (Level C) Health Care Provider. Minimum five years of clinical knowledge as a paramedic or nurse. ICS 200. Leadership or management experience. day-to-day knowledge of clinical operations for the EMS and Emergency Department.

As required.


Preferred Qualifications:
Previous management or leadership experience within a rural healthcare environment. Previous experience in the areas of EMS and Emergency Care.
