Full job description
Banff Trail Riders is located in the townsite of Banff, offering guided horseback tours from 1 hour to 6 days in length. We are a very active tourist business with several components that make up the overall company. Because of the diversity of the company, we can offer a great variety of products to our visitors, as well as a variety of job opportunities.

Whether you are craving a summer of adventure, are looking to improve your horsemanship skills or a combination of both while making life long friends and memories, Banff Trail Riders is the place for you!

As a Horseback Trail Guide, you will be required to take care of our herd of 280+ horses and mules at the Banff Trail Rider Stables and the Banff Springs Corrals. The core aspect of your role will be guiding tours on horseback, demonstrating your knowledge of the horses, the mountains, and the environment to provide an informative and entertaining experience to guests of Banff National Park. In addition to this, horses provided to the staff will need training, to various degrees, and you will be asked to assist in their development in the hopes they may be a safe companion for future guests.

This position will require you to:

Guide narrative trail rides from 1 hour to 4 hours length.
Perform general barn duties and chores.
Pony rides for children 3-7
Groom, saddle and care for horses
Help guests on and off horses.
Interact with guests in a fun professional manner.
Qualifications:

Horseback riding experience.
Customer service experience.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work well with others and independently.
Takes initiative.
An interest in the western lifestyle.
Valid first aid.
*This is a seasonal position that runs from April/May until early October.*
