THE ROLE:

The F&B manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of food and beverage activities and services to guests and hosts in the outlets, Banquets and In-room Dining. Accountable for ensuring compliance with brand standards, the F&B manager supports and leads their teams to provide consistent, high-quality service, communicates performance expectations and strives to continually improve guest and host satisfaction while maximizing financial performance.

ACTIVITIES:

The duties of the F&B Manager include, but are not limited to the following:

Successfully drive Food and Beverage top line revenue generating Sales & Marketing strategies, manage margins, while focusing on menu and service standards.
Provides input into the annual budget process, regular forecasting throughout the year and financial reporting for all food and beverage outlets including Kitchen, and Banquet departments.
Provides guidance to managers of food and beverage operations and promotes the delivery of exceptional guest service.
Active hands-on participation in the day-to-day delivery of service within the department; regularly performing restaurant host/floor shifts, supporting staff and monitoring service.
Assists and collaborates with the General Manager, Corporate and Regional directors on product offerings, quality, menu design, sourcing of products and ingredients, and other initiatives, ensuring the corporate food and beverage vision is maintained.
Implements and maintains a loyalty retention program to enhance guest loyalty.
Provides organizational expertise to food and beverage departments in defining training and developmental needs for the Food and Beverage team.
Stays informed about local, national and international best practices or trends in food and beverage industry and conducts market, trend and demography research and analysis.
Ensures compliance with food handling requirements and regulations, and company policies and procedures.
Demonstrate professional attitude and image in manner and attire.
Must be willing to work a variety of days, evenings and weekends.
Adhere to all Food & Beverage audit requirements.
Provide and implement improvement initiatives for Focus Group and Employee Survey results.
Note: Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management

COMPETENCIES WE ARE SEEKING:

Minimum 3 years previous experience in hotel F&B Management
Diploma or degree in restaurant management and or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Provincial certifications for alcohol service and food preparation. Pro Serve, Food Handler Certification and WHMIS training an asset.
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing, in Microsoft applications.
Proven leadership and customer service skills.
Proven ability to train, and develop employees, build relationships and utilize skills of employees most appropriately.
MICROS system and asset.
Ability to work under pressure.
Demonstrate excellence in establishing a network of contacts.
