Job Description

The Night Auditor is a key member of the Front Office team, responsible for the overnight operations of the hotel, verifying the accuracy of guest accounts, balancing charges and revenues, as well as assisting with all aspects of guest services. This position works overnight.

Duties and Responsibilities


Complete nightly audit of guest transactions, investigating and fixing any out-of-balance transactions or postings.
Produce a variety of reports for other departments, ensuring reports are timely and accurate.
Support the Reservations team with entering of reservations, confirmation of extranets, and processing telephone and walk-in reservations.
Greet arriving guests, provide check-in services, and arrange for luggage assistance.
Provide in-house services, including cashiering and foreign exchange, and providing accurate and timely information about events and services available to guests.
Provide departure services including luggage pick-up and storage, check-out services, and processing payment.
Operate hotel switchboard and respond to guest emails.
Review department communication log each shift and update for the next shift
Any other responsibilities or duties as assigned by the supervisor or management team.

Qualifications
Available to work 11:00 pm to 7:00 am shift
Post-secondary education in Hotel Management an asset
Minimum of 2 years of hotel Front Desk experience required; Night Audit experience preferred
Comfortable working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
Opera experience is an asset
Customer-service oriented and quick to smile and engage in conversation
Keen attention to detail with strong organizing skills
Solid understanding of financial transactions
Self-motivated with the ability to work unsupervised
Able to perform in high-pressure situations and to make quick, responsible decisions when required
