Full Job Description
Facilities - Maintenance Worker (Full Time, Term)

By joining the Facilities department, you are part of our team committed to ensuring the Town of Banff’s indoor and outdoor facilities reflect the beauty and grandeur of our location in Canada’s premier national park.


Your experience in general maintenance leads to effective diagnosis (including troubleshooting), delegation, and resolution of a range of maintenance and repairs required in plumbing, electrical and HVAC, carpentry, and painting (indoor and outdoor). You enjoy the variety of performing tasks in unique buildings (Fire Hall, LEED status assets), in unusual facilities (parkades, wastewater treatment plant), and in the outdoors (benches, railings, fences, snow removal - shoveling). You have the physical stamina to perform a variety of physical tasks in tight locations with lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying a range of shapes and weights (up to 50 lbs.).

You have a passion for making sure things work, demonstrated by your knowledge and skills in executing preventative maintenance programs and contracted services. You thrive on being friendly, helpful, and professional during interactions with contractors, co-workers, and the public.

You have a background and work experience in maintenance and building repair and are committed to workplace health and safety programs. You possess a valid class 5 Alberta driver’s license, can operate a half-ton truck or van, and can provide a current and clean driver’s abstract upon hire date. Emergency First Aid and CPR and Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification would be an asset.


For your safety and the safety of others, you will be required to demonstrate (in writing from an Alberta Health Services authorized site) that you are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 as of your hire date.
