Scope

Provide courteous and memorable service to guests while making tea and coffee beverages in an often fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Be knowledgeable of the ingredients and preparation of common tea and coffee-based drink recipes.
Be knowledgeable of the ingredients in pastries, pre-made sandwiches, and salads for sale.
Prepare tea and coffee-based drinks and serve pre-made foods.
Operate cash register and know procedures for accepting all types of payment.
Ensure the Café and retail area is always clean, organized, and fully stocked with food and retail items.
Provide guests with help concerning the retail section of the Café.
Maintain a balanced float.
Be knowledgeable of the Hotel’s facilities and the surrounding area of Banff National Park.
Follow Health & Safety rules set by the Hotel.
Physical Demands

Constant standing and walking
Frequent lifting and carrying up to 11 pounds / 5 kg
Occasional lifting and carrying up to 22 pounds / 10 kg
Requires operation of an espresso machine and small kitchen appliances
Occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching
Qualifications

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
Alberta ProServe certification
Customer-service oriented
Previous customer service experience with café experience an asset
Excellent English communication skills
