Maintenance Worker

Role Overview

The Maintenance Worker will be performing general building and property cleaning and maintenance for Arctos & Bird commercial, residential, and hospitality buildings. The Maintenance Worker will provide cleaning and maintenance support to the operational teams.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment, structures and grounds on the property.
Respond to client requests for maintenance.
Sweep, mop, polish, refinish resilient floors, vacuum and shampoo carpeted areas, perform all cleaning aspects of halls, offices, and restrooms, as well as wash walls, windows and window coverings.
Perform regular property inspections of the properties, including common areas, building exterior, and landscape.
Perform minor repairs on windows, doors, switches, desks, tables, plugs, equipment, appliances, sinks, toilets, blinds etc.
Maintain outside grounds (remove snow, ice, and debris, spray and remove weeds, sweep and clean gutters)
Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to the proper supervisor.
Prepare, paint and decorate interior and exterior surfaces, as required.
Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
Requirements

Experience in building maintenance an asset.
Driver’s license Class 5 (clean drivers abstract).
Experience in building maintenance an asset.
Ability to perform minor repairs.
Ability to lift heavy items (23kg or 51lb)
Practical communication skills with individuals at all levels, both inside and outside the organization.
Strong customer service orientation and skills.
Working Conditions

Various indoor and outdoor weather conditions.
Interact with management, colleagues, and the public.
Overtime as required.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
On call after hours.
