What will you do in this job?:
Welcomes all Banff Gondola guests both at the Lower and Upper Terminal
Assists with ticket sales, combo packages, questions, directions, and guidance in visiting our attractions and the Canadian Rockies
Uses a computerized ticketing system to issue and process guest tickets
Handles cash and credit transactions
Validates tickets prior to boarding
Helps with the management of traffic flow throughout the lower and upper terminal buildings
Provides value-added guest experience piece to visitors of the Banff Gondola
Solicits guest feedback
Becomes knowledgeable and answers questions regarding the Gondola offerings and Pursuit offerings
Learns to answer questions on topics related to the surrounding area, wildlife and local human history
Participates in programs and/or assist guest speakers during special programs or events
Adheres to the company values:

Honors place by maintaining cleanliness of the areas, ensuring wildlife is not approached or fed, showing respect to colleagues (Honour place)
Anticipates our guest needs by asking them if they require assistance, directing them to restrooms, restaurants, outside and inside areas and attractions, giving them a brief idea of the offerings and setting their expectations as well as taking their pictures

What skills and experience do you need for this job?:
The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

A high level of customer service and experience in guest services, or similar
Attention to detail and good communication and listening skills with local and international guests and staff
Passion for making a difference for each guest
Friendly personality and cooperative nature
Ability to reason and react with quick, thoughtful judgement, while remaining calm under pressure
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Second language skills highly advantageous
Initiative to walk up to guests and engage with them
Strong communication skills towards customers and supervisors
Autonomy to work unsupervised, report observations to supervisors
Creativity and willingness to improve guest experience
Solid knowledge of the products and services available in Banff and its surroundings
Accuracy and efficiency in handling large amounts of cash ($CAD and $US) and debit/credit transactions under fast-paced and busy conditions
Work in a fast-paced environment and overcome guest objections
Physical demands including constant use of hands, repetitive actions and speaking, sitting/standing for long periods of time, frequent bending/twisting and working outdoors
Capable of performing demanding physical/manual duties as required
Meet Pursuit's grooming standards
First Aid certification are an asset
