Skill Requirements:

Education: Completion of high school, Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Cook Trade Certification
Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

Cook Categories: First cook, Second cook
Work Setting: Restaurant, Hotel
Food Preparation Specializations: Bakery goods and desserts, Eggs and dairy
Types of Meals/Food Prepared: Breakfasts, Lunches, Dinners, Banquets, Buffet, All meals, Full course meals
Specific Skills: Prepare and cook full course meals, Prepare and cook individual dishes and foods, Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef, Ensure quality of food and determine size of food proportions, Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment, Work with specialized cooking equipment (deep fryer, etc.), Clean kitchen and work areas
