Full job description
Gold Homes Ltd., a Calgary-based custom home builder, is preparing to take on a new multi-phase, 130+ unit townhome complex in Canmore, Alberta, and we are looking for an experienced professional to lead and support the most critical phase of the project: the commercial concrete parkade component.

This is the number one experience requirement for the role. We are seeking someone with proven hands-on expertise in commercial concrete parkades who can help ensure this part of the project is executed correctly, efficiently, and without costly mistakes. This individual may join us as a consultant or as an employee, depending on experience and fit. In either case, this person will play a key role in helping our team manage risk, maintain quality, and keep the project on track from planning through execution.

This is a high-impact opportunity for someone who understands the complexity of structural concrete, sequencing, site coordination, and quality control in multi-unit residential or mixed-use construction. We need someone who can step into the project with confidence, provide leadership and technical oversight, and help our team deliver this major development successfully.

About the role

The successful candidate will work closely with company leadership, project management, site teams, consultants, and trades to oversee and advise on all aspects of the concrete parkade scope. You will be expected to spend a minimum of 3 days per week on-site in Canmore, with additional on-site presence as needed during key phases. Occasional overnight stays may be required, and all accommodations will be provided.

This role is ideal for someone with deep field experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the confidence to identify issues before they become delays, deficiencies, or costly rework.

Key responsibilities

Provide expert oversight, advice, and leadership for the commercial concrete parkade portion of a 130+ unit townhome development, as well as further construction activities for anything above-grade
Review plans, specifications, structural details, schedules, and construction sequencing related to concrete and parkade work
Help Gold Homes leadership plan and execute the concrete scope in a way that minimizes risk, avoids errors, and supports project efficiency
Identify constructability concerns, coordination issues, and potential cost or schedule impacts before work proceeds
Support site teams during layout, excavation interface, formwork, reinforcement, pours, curing, waterproofing coordination, and related concrete activities
Monitor quality control and workmanship to ensure the parkade is built to design, code, and project standards
Work with project managers, superintendents, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve technical and site issues quickly and effectively
Provide practical recommendations to support infill and multi-unit construction activities connected to the concrete scope
Help ensure proper sequencing between concrete work and downstream trades to avoid delays and rework
Attend site meetings, document concerns, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and help drive accountability on critical items
Assist with risk management, scheduling input, and field decision-making throughout the concrete phase of the project
Required qualifications

Extensive experience with commercial concrete parkades is mandatory
Proven background in concrete construction for large residential, mixed-use, commercial, or infill projects
Strong understanding of structural concrete processes, parkade construction challenges, and best practices for execution
Experience reviewing drawings and coordinating with engineers, consultants, site teams, and concrete trades
Ability to identify potential construction issues early and provide practical, field-tested solutions
Strong on-site leadership presence and the ability to communicate clearly with management and trades
High attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality, safety, and schedule performance
Ability to work on site in Canmore a minimum of 3 days per week
Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
Preferred qualifications

Experience in multi-family, townhome, podium, or infill developments
Background as a superintendent, concrete construction manager, project manager, or specialized concrete consultant
Knowledge of Alberta construction practices, codes, and site coordination requirements
Experience supporting projects from pre-construction planning through concrete completion
What we’re looking for

We are looking for someone who understands that this is a critical hire for a major project. We need a person who can bring a high level of technical knowledge, foresight, and professionalism to the job, and who takes pride in risk management.

The right candidate will be dependable, proactive, solutions-focused, and comfortable taking ownership of a key piece of a significant development.
