Job Description

At the heart of every exceptional dining experience is a team that works behind the scenes to make excellence possible. As our Stewarding Supervisor, you will play a vital leadership role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and operational excellence across our culinary operation. More than overseeing dishwashing and sanitation, you will inspire and develop your team, foster a culture of accountability and pride, and ensure the foundation of our kitchens runs seamlessly every day.

Pay Rate: $23 per hour

What You'll Be Doing:

Lead with Structure

Lead, coach, and inspire a team of Stewards across day, evening, or night shifts.
Ensure colleagues arrive on time, well-groomed, and ready to perform.
Assign workstations during line-up and communicate daily events and priorities clearly.
Conduct performance discussions, progressive corrective actions, and monthly development conversations as assigned.
Foster a culture guided by Rimrock Banff's mission, vision, and values.
Operational Excellence

Oversee opening and closing shift procedures with precision and accountability.
Ensure all kitchens and stewarding areas are cleaned, sanitized, and organized to luxury standards.
Confirm daily task lists are completed methodically and accurately.
Ensure proper garbage and recycling removal in compliance with hotel policies and Parks Canada regulations.
Support the safe and correct use of chemicals, including WHMIS compliance and training.
Maintain equipment cleanliness, storage standards, and readiness following events and service periods.
Perform regular walkthroughs with the Assistant Chief Steward and Chief Steward.
Step into operational roles as needed to maintain service continuity.
Collaboration & Culture

Partner with Culinary and F&B venues to support operational needs and resource requests.
Maintain clear, task-focused communication across departments to enhance guest satisfaction.
Participate in hotel committees (Environmental, Health & Safety).
Promote a safe working environment through active participation in health, safety, and environmental programs.
Encourage structured development opportunities that build team expertise and accountability.

Qualifications

What You Bring

Previous experience in Food & Beverage; Stewarding experience preferred.
Proven leadership experience in a structured, fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational and communication skills with a clear, task-oriented approach.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
Knowledge of WHMIS and safe chemical handling; First Aid and Food Safe certifications an asset.
Valid Alberta Driver’s License and clean abstract an asset.

Experience leading large operational teams
Strong technical knowledge of sanitation systems and kitchen operations.
Experience in luxury hotel or resort environments.

Physical Demands

Continuous standing for extended periods.
Frequent walking, bending, and reaching above/below shoulder height.
Frequent lifting and carrying up to 22lbs / 10kg.
Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50lbs / 23kg.
Ability to work in hot, humid, and fast-paced kitchen environments.
Visa Requirements: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
