Summary

The Journeyperson Plumber & Gasfitter is a skilled tradesperson responsible for independently performing all aspects of residential plumbing and gasfitting installations while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This position requires a thorough understanding of plumbing and gas systems, applicable codes, construction practices, and company quality expectations.

Responsibilities

The Journeyperson is responsible for interpreting blueprints, specifications, and site instructions; planning and sequencing work; coordinating with other trades; verifying layouts and elevations; and identifying and resolving installation challenges in the field. They are expected to troubleshoot technical issues, complete required rework and deficiency corrections, prepare systems for inspection, and ensure installations meet company, regulatory, and customer requirements.

Journeyperson Plumbers & Gasfitters are expected to lead and execute work throughout every stage of construction, including underground, rough-in, pressure testing, board phase, finishing, startup and commissioning, deficiency completion, and final project turnover. They play a key role in maintaining productivity, quality workmanship, and a professional job site while supporting apprentices and contributing to the successful completion of each project.

Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record is required. Applicants must be eligible for coverage under the company's commercial vehicle insurance policy
Alberta Journeyperson Plumber Certificate
Valid Gasfitter – Class B Certification recognized in Alberta
