DJ Bailey Technical Services – Certified Commercial Appliance Technician

Serving the Bow Valley for over 25 years, DJ Bailey Technical Services is a trusted provider of commercial appliance installation, repair, and preventative maintenance. As of June 1, 2025, the business is under new ownership. The new owners bring over 20 years of experience in both domestic and commercial appliance services and business management ensuring continued excellence and reliability.

We proudly support many restaurants and food service operations throughout Banff, Lake Louise, Canmore, Kananaskis, and the surrounding communities. Our technicians specialize in servicing commercial kitchen equipment such as combi ovens, flat tops, broilers, dishwashers, mixers, ovens, fryers, and more.

DJ Bailey Technical Services is an authorized service provider for leading brands, including Rational, Garland, Champion, Food Service Solutions, Coinamatic, and others.

What a Typical Day Looks Like:

Our appliance repair technicians begin their day with paid travel to client sites. Daily tasks include diagnosing issues, completing repairs, and installing equipment as scheduled by restaurant owners, executive chefs, or maintenance personnel. In addition to technical work, technicians handle invoicing, maintain their assigned work vehicle, some parts ordering, and regular customer communication.

Technicians also participate in one to two brand-specific training seminars annually.

Skills & Abilities:

Professional and effective communication with clients and team members
Safe operation of a vehicle with long periods of travel
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs, kneel, bend and do repetitive hand motions during each work day
Strong independent problem-solving abilities
Effective time management and ability to prioritize key clients and tasks
Key Qualifications:

Red Seal Appliance Technician or Alberta Commercial Appliance Technician

Schedule:

Monday to Friday schedule with participation in a weekend on-call rotation. This position is based on a 44-hour work week, supported by a work averaging agreement and banked time program.

Work Location: Primarily on the road, serving clients throughout the Bow Valley. A shop is also leased in the Banff industrial compound.

Salary Range (for Certified Red Seal / Commercial Appliance Technician):

Competitive hourly compensation with enhanced rates for billable service work between $43 – $51/hour. Additional compensation applies for training, professional development, and recall hours, ensuring all time worked is recognized and paid appropriately ranging between $32 - $36/hour.
Pay: $43.00-$51.00 per hour
