Our client is an engineering and manufacturing company that designs innovative production optimization technologies for the upstream oil & gas industry. Their solutions help producers improve production efficiency, reduce operating costs, increase equipment reliability, and optimize field operations. This is an outstanding opportunity for a true hunter who enjoys building relationships, opening new accounts, and growing market share within a well-established territory. The Opportunity Reporting to the Canadian Sales Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and winning new business with upstream oil & gas producers throughout Northwest Alberta and Northeast British Columbia. While you'll inherit a small portfolio of existing customers, your primary focus will be on prospecting, developing new opportunities, and expanding the company's presence across the territory. Supported by an experienced team of engineers, technologists, and technical specialists, you'll act as a trusted advisor to operations teams, production personnel, engineers, and corporate decision-makers. This is primarily a sales and business development role—not a field service position. The territory includes: Grande Prairie Fort St. John Dawson Creek Grand Cache Rainbow Lake Surrounding production areas This is a home office-based position with approximately 75% travel throughout the territory. Candidates based in Fort St. John are typically home every evening, while those based in Grande Prairie may occasionally require overnight travel into the Fort St. John area. What You'll Bring Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of successful outside sales and business development experience Demonstrated track record of consistently generating new business and growing revenue Strong prospecting, relationship-building, negotiation, and closing skills Ability to work independently while managing a large geographic territory Solid understanding of the oil & gas industry Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of upstream oil & gas production operations Understanding of producing wells and common operational challenges Existing relationships with producers, operators, and field personnel Experience selling industrial, mechanical, instrumentation, automation, production, or other technical solutions Technical aptitude with the ability to confidently discuss customer operations and production challenges Product and technical training will be provided. What Success Looks Like The successful candidate will: Prospect and secure new customers throughout the territory Build long-term relationships with upstream producers and operators Grow revenue and market share through strategic business development Identify retrofit and standardization opportunities Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to deliver customer-focused solutions Clearly demonstrate measurable business development achievements Training & Support You'll receive comprehensive onboarding and ongoing support from: Vice President of Sales Canadian Sales Manager Technical Specialists Engineers and Technologists Joint customer visits and field coaching during onboarding Note: The company has dedicated technical and field service teams that manage equipment installation, service, and troubleshooting, allowing you to focus on sales and customer development.
