Western Budget Motels Plus -- Alberta From $65,000 a year - Full-time Job details Pay From $65,000 a year Job type Full-time Shift and schedule Monday to Friday On call Location Alberta Full job description WESTERN BUDGET MOTELS PLUS / GENERAL MANAGER OF OPERATIONS Alberta (Travel May Be Required) Join our family-owned hotel/motel chain as Accounting Manager—oversee finances across several properties and help drive our success. Core Responsibilities: Accounts Payable & Receivable: Set up vendors, process invoices/EFTs, manage guest folios, credits, group billing, reconcile accounts, oversee chargebacks/collections. Payroll: Onboard staff in Payworks, audit timesheets, manage payroll, funding, and ROEs. Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly/year-end financial statements, perform bank/G.L. reconciliations, analyze cash flow and variances, compile management reports. Compliance & Tax: File/remit GST and occupancy tax, keep current with industry standards (including USALI). Internal Controls & Systems: Maintain accounting controls, document procedures, and improve workflow. Budgets & Forecasts: Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, and audits. Teamwork & Communication: Liaise with managers, vendors, head office, auditors; support departments and mentor junior accounting staff. Preferred Qualifications: Management experience in hotel or multi-property accounting. Proficient with Sage and Payworks (or similar platforms). Experience with financial statements and G/L. Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll, tax, and regulations. Analytical, organized, and communicative. Able to multitask in a fast-paced, multi-site environment. Willing and able to travel within Alberta.
